Palmyra
In the mid 1st Century Palmyra, a wealthy
and elegant city located along the caravan
Silk Road routes.

Palmyra linked ancient Persia with the
Mediterranean sea ports of Roman
Syria
and Phoenicia, which later came under Roman
control.

This desert oasis city thrived during the
time of Queen Zenobia just after the Romans
regrouped closer to Europe from attacks of
the Sassanid Empire in Persia.
