Jerusalem

This historic city is one of the most important religious sites in the world. It houses the famous Temple Mount which holds the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa Mosque.

This was the main center of worship before the rise of modern Islam. Early Christians prayed in the direction of Jerusalem as well as all the other religions in the region.

This Old City was nominated to be included in the list of world heritage sites which could be lost because of religious tensions even to this day.

In the course of its history, Jerusalem has been destroyed twice, seized 23 times, attacked 52 times; captured and recaptured 44 times. This is just a little glimpse at this amazing historical treasure.
